Rooted, Not Rushed

Midweek Thought
The middle of the week can feel noisy.
Responsibilities pile up. Energy dips. Faith can quietly become an afterthought.
But God's invitation is not to strive harder. His invitation is to stay rooted.
"But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water..."
Jeremiah 17:7-8
① PAUSE
Before you pick up the next task, stop for one minute.
Take a slow breath.
Release what is rushing you.
Pray:
"Lord, I surrender this moment to You."
② REMEMBER
Read:
"Be still, and know that I am God."
Psalm 46:10
Ask yourself:
• What has been distracting me from God's presence?
• Where have I been moving faster than grace?
• What do I need to place back into God's hands?
③ RECEIVE
Read:
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
Matthew 11:28
Sit quietly for one minute.
Don't perform. Don't strive. Simply receive God's peace.
④ REFOCUS
Read:
"Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness."
Matthew 6:33
Choose one intentional action for the next 24 hours:
□ Encourage someone
□ Pray before every meal
□ Read one chapter of Scripture
□ Show kindness without recognition
□ Spend 10 minutes with God in silence
⑤ DECLARE
Speak aloud:
I am rooted in Christ.
I am sustained by grace.
I am growing even when I cannot see it.
I will Believe Beyond Sunday.
⑥ GIVE THANKS
Read:
"Give thanks in all circumstances."
1 Thessalonians 5:18
Write down:
One thing God has done for me this week:
Closing Prayer
Father,
When life feels rushed, root me in Your presence.
When I feel weary, renew my strength.
When I lose focus, draw my eyes back to Jesus.
Help me to live a faith that reaches beyond Sunday and into every ordinary moment.
Amen.
JFH Closing Line
Faith grows deepest where it stays rooted longest.
